ATIVIDADE ANTIBACTERIANA DE ÓLEO ESSENCIAL (OE) DE THYMUS VULGARIS NO CONTROLE DE CURTOBACTERIUM FLACCUMFACIENS. A presente invenção consiste em um óleo essencial (OE) de tomilho (Thymus vulgaris), com atividade antibacteriana frente a bactéria Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens. O OE de tomilho os compostos que o constitui majoritariamente podem ser classificados como monoterpenos. Segundo Valeriano, et al (2012)., a ação antimicrobiana dos monoterpenos vem sendo explicada pelo efeito tóxico na estrutura e função da membrana celular. O OE mostrou-se eficaz contra as cepas da bactéria Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens, sendo uma excelente proposta a ser empregada contra as enfermidades causadas por essa bactéria.
