A presente tecnologia trata de proteínas recombinantes compreendendo epítopos das proteínas spike e do nucleocapsídeo do vírus SARS-CoV-2 e da construção da Mycobacterium bovis BCG geneticamente modificada expressando essas proteínas. A presente tecnologia trata ainda do uso das proteínas e da bactéria geneticamente modificada para produzir uma vacina contra a COVID-19. Alternativamente, a bactéria Mycobacterium bovis BCG geneticamente modificada pode ser usada para preparar vacinas com atividade imunogênica, tanto contra COVID-19, quanto contra a tuberculose.
