Abstract
APARELHO E MÉTODO PARA PROCESSAR MATERIAL VEGETAL. São fornecidos um método e um aparelho para processar material vegetal para remover folhas de um caule de planta. O aparelho compreende um transportador para transportar uma planta com folhas penduradas do caule; e um mecanismo de desfolhador com duas superfícies opostas, as superfícies opostas sendo móveis entre (i) uma posição desengatada para receber folhas penduradas do transportador e (ii) uma posição engatada na qual as superfícies opostas estão configuradas para agarrar as folhas recebidas pelo mecanismo de desfolhador; em que as superfícies opostas atuam na posição engatada para aplicar uma força nas folhas agarradas para separá-las do caule.
