O seguinte resumo para invenção se refere ao desenvolvimento de um alicate assimétrico para diversos usos, tais como medicina, eletrônica, mecânica fina, na remoção de cutículas, etc., onde um dos cabos é maior (1) e o outro cabo é significativa menor, onde este cabo menor se trata de um apoio (3) para o polegar, sendo que as partes (A e B) são afastadas por uma mola externa ou por uma mola interna à articulação (2), onde neste cabo menor se tem uma região de apoio da falange distal, de modo que a usuária não apoie a região tênar da mão para usar o alicate.
