A presente invenção fornece uma composição partir do processo de obtenção do óleo essencial de Hymenaea cangaceira com atividade antimicrobiana, notadamente contra bactérias Gram positivas, Gram negativas e fungos, com atividade antioxidante, fotoprotetora e antinocicepitiva, a partir de folhas Hymenaea cangaceira, tendo como constituintes majoritários: (E)-Caryophyllene (23,38%), Germacrene D (14,66%) e a-Guaiene (9,75%). Estes compostos apresentam relevância de aplicação na indústria farmacêutica, química, cosmética, na produção de perfumes, aromas, conservantes alimentícios e medicamentos.
