A presente invenção se aplica no campo da engenharia de recursos hídricos e ambiental, mais precisamente na área de tratamento de águas residuais e refere-se a um reator anaeróbio de fluxo ascendente com biofilme termicamente estimulado voltado para o tratamento de águas residuais em condições termicamente desfavoráveis aos microrganismos responsáveis pela degradação da matéria orgânica presente nas águas residuais, principalmente condições psicrofílicas (<20ºC).
