Os peptídeos sintéticos são construídos a partir de modificações do peptídeo natural denominado Fraternina, capaz de produzir efeitos neuroprotetores contra a depleção neuronal em pessoas acometidas por doenças neurodegenrativas, tais como respostas antiparkinsonianas na Doença de Parkinson.
