Esta invenção corresponde à obtenção de um produto fitoterápico com potencial antimicrobiano obtido a partir do extrato hidroalcoólico das folhas de Hibiscus acetosella Welw.ex.Hiern., encontrados em diferentes apresentações, tais como pasta, solução, gel, creme, pomada, sabonete, xarope, cápsula, supositório; com ação antimicrobiana contra os inúmeros microrganismos encontrados no meio, bem como os fungos e as bactérias de interesse clínico, e que tal possa estar sendo utilizado na profilaxia de infecções provocadas por esses patógenos, ou na terapia antimicrobiana, seja como fitoterápico isolado ou como adjuvante de outros medicamentos.
