A presente invenção trata de formulação química repelente de insetos contendo, como um dos ingredientes ativos, componente natural derivado de andiroba (Carapa guianensis ou Carapa procera). Mais especificamente, a presente invenção trata de formulação repelente à base de N,N-dietil-3-metilbenzamida, também denominada N,N-dietil-meta-toluamida (DEET), cujos efeitos repelentes foram surpreendentemente aperfeiçoados pelo sinergismo estabelecido pela incorporação de componente natural originário da andiroba.
