A parte quente (2), responsável por realizar trabalho e fazer a exaustão dos produtos oriundos da queima do combustível é composta basicamente por um eixo (6A) que está vinculado a um virabrequim (5) que aloja um ou mais pistões (7) que articulam-se no ponto (15), alojados em uma carcaça (8) e fechados por duas laterais (9A e 10A).
