É descrito um equipamento e método para medição de dureza de materiais lignocelulósicos que compreende um equipamento portátil eletromecânico que mede a dureza de materiais, com princípio de funcionamento semelhante ao ensaio de dureza Brinell, apresentando um conjunto eletrônico composto por um sensor de deslocamento do tipo encoder magnético incremental (11) que permite a automatização da leitura da dureza por meio de controlador digital de sinais integrado (40).
