Promoting public awareness of environmental matters; Promoting public awareness of issues related to recycling, waste reduction, product reuse, product stewardship, economic and environmental sustainability, proper maintenance and management of solid waste facilities, and climate change through grants, to California local governments and other eligible California entities, designed to strengthen markets for recycled goods and to encourage public and private entities to manufacture and use such products, and through programs designed to educate interested parties and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Promoting the interests of people concerned with health, community and environmental sustainability issues

Class 36

Loan financing; Providing grants for assistance with establishing convenient beverage container recycling and litter abatement projects in California, and to encourage market development and expansion activities for beverage container materials; for the cleanup of illegal solid waste sites on California farm or ranch property; for programs to expand or initially implement Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) programs in California consisting of collection programs, educational programs, load checking programs, and programs emphasizing waste reduction, source reduction, reuse or recycling of HHW; to California local enforcement agencies to assist in their solid waste facilities permit and inspection programs; for cleanup or emergency actions in California, or to provide partial grants to California local governments to assist in remediation of environmental problems at California landfills; for the cost of cleanup, abatement, or other remedial actions related to the disposal of waste tires collected at cleanup projects in California; to California local governments to conduct amnesty events and for disposal costs of tires collected; to fund rubberized asphalt concrete projects in California; to provide assistance to California local governments utilizing tire-derived aggregate as an alternative to conventional lightweight aggregates in civil engineering projects; to certain California entities for certain specific tire-derived products made from 100% California-generated waste tires; and to provide assistance to eligible California businesses to (1) evaluate and improve their business plans and operations, (2) enhance marketing efforts, and (3) test and certify new products; to provide funding to California solid waste local enforcement agencies and city and county agencies in California for waste tire enforcement activities; Providing payments and funding on a per capita basis to California local governments to develop and maintain used oil and used oil filter collection/recycling programs; and Providing funding to eligible California cities and counties for beverage container recycling and litter abatement activities
