De acordo com o Artigo 104 da LPI - O pedido de registro de desenho industrial terá que se referir a um único objeto, permitida uma pluralidade de variações, desde que se destinem ao mesmo propósito e guardem entre si a mesma característica distintiva preponderante, limitado cada pedido ao máximo de 20 (vinte) variações. Os conjuntos são considerados variantes, desta forma, os objetos das figs. 1 a 12 deverão ficar no pedido original, enquanto que os objetos das figuras 13 a 16 deverão constar de um pedido dividido de acordo com o ítem 7 do Ato Normativo 161/2002.
